Common Business Issues and How to Solve Them

Posted on Apr 05, 2018

Every business owner experiences difficulty on the long and hard journey to success, and how you handle a business problem could mean the difference between success and failure. It might be a staff issue, as people don’t always see eye to eye, or possibly your organisation needs some re-engineering, but whatever the problem, there is always a solution, all you have to do is find it. Here are some common business hiccups and effective ways to find the best solution.

ü  Staff Issues – People can sometimes find it difficult working in a particular environment, and very often, a conflict between two groups can occur, such as smokers and non smokers. Obviously, you cannot allow people to smoke in the office or factory, and while many companies do provide a smoking area outside, there is a better solution. Invite the smoking section of your workforce to try ecigs, which give off vapour rather than smoke, and this is not harmful to other people. Vaping does not leave a foul smell either, and this is one of the reasons why non smokers complain, and if you point out the health risks that are commonly connected to smoking tobacco, your employees will be happy to switch to ecigs, and none of the other workers will complain.

ü  Accounting Problems – Some companies do not employ an accountant, and they simply keep all their receipts and call in an accountant as the tax year comes to a close. If the correct protocol has not been followed, it can be next to impossible to create an accurate account of revenue and expenditure, and by making good use of the latest business software, all your accounts can be recorded. Asset management software can really make things easy, and with a little training, anyone can use such a program, and with barcode labels and identification labels, things can effortlessly be recorded in an inventory, whether it be stock or fixed assets.

ü  Internal Communication – If this is an issue, it could have serious consequences, and when the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing, that’s when mistakes are made. Failing to inform the relevant person of a sales lead or service call can quickly lead to an unhappy client, and that is something we all wish to avoid. Making sure everyone makes full use of their smartphone would certainly help, and if you would like to look into digital communication options, there are online suppliers of systems that will ensure that everyone is on the same page.

While there are many things that could go wrong, all of the above are common issues in the business world, and by approaching any problem with a calm and collected mind, you should be able to nip the problem in the bud, as any small issue could have a serious impact on your business.
